Blood Donation Camp, H.O. Delhi

As part of initiation of 35th anniversary celebration, on 2nd April, 2011 blood donation camp was organized . The Blood donation camp was conducted in association with Lions Blood Bank. The camp was flagged off by Mr. Ankur Aggarwal, MD – Crystal Crop Protection Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of other senior officials. The blood donation camp was driven internally and saw more than 120 employees donating blood voluntarily making it a huge success. With this, Crystal has indirectly helped patients who need blood especially accident victims, thalassaemia, cancer, chronic diseases, premature babies, patients with blood disorders as well as those who are about to undergo surgeries. The camp was a part of ‘Corporate Social Responsibility program, initiated by Crystal.

Speaking on the ocassion, Mr. Ankur Aggarwal, MD – Crystal said: “ It gives us immense pleasure to announce our 35th year celebration. To commemorate this, we thought of organizing a noble cause of blood donation , which is a way to give back to the society at large.” He further added that, “ Donating blood was a great social responsibility and he was happy that large number of employees responded so positively for such event.”

Public Private Participation

Crystal Group has joined hands with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for enhancement of rice productivity. This project is started in northern India initially. After the success of the project in north India it will further be spreaded to entire crop system across India. For this joint venture a conference was organized from 25th-30th April 2010.The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Harish Rawat Minister of Hon. State Minister of Labour & Employment. Other renowned scientist from ICAR were Dr. C. D. Mayee Chairman ASRB, Dr. K. D. Kokate DDG Agi Extension, Dr. R. B. Singh Ex- Chairman Farmer Commission and scientist from State Agriculutre universities and KVK had also attended the conference and shared there experience with regards to Public Partnership. In the end they came to the conclusion that public private participation is the need of time for the betterment of agriculture and Indian farmer.

As per this programme Crystal Group laid down 20 yield demonstration in Punjab,16 in Haryana and 20 in Uttar Pradesh, farmer plot for comparison is also left aside. Company will provide the total technology like seed treatment, fertilizer application, irrigation and pesticides schedule as well as right spray technology to the farmer, for company adopted plot and in the last comparison will be made between company adopted plot and farmer adopted plot. These plot will also be visited by ICAR Scientists. The aim of the project is to convey the message to the farmer. How the right used technology increase the crop productivity.
